PCS Support Public Health Scholarship in Thailand

Liam Ajudhkij, founder and Chairman of OCS/PCS in Thailand was appointed Vice Chairman of HRH The Princess Mother’s Phra Maetha Project on 23rd September 2010. This is a highly prestigious appointment within the Thai community.

This public health scholarship of HRH The Princess Mother’s has been established to provide and enhance educational opportunities in the North East ‘up-country’ of Thailand. In this area, especially in the rural parts, there are many health and hygiene problems and the scholarship gives selected individuals the chance to gain professional knowledge of these subjects in higher education.  After graduation, participants return to their hometown to use their skills and improve conditions in their community.

The objectives of the Project are:

• To provide educational opportunities for people who have the capability by who may suffer financial or geographical restrictions

• To award scholarships for students who will return to work to compat public health programes in their home community after graduation

• To increase awareness of public health problems and motivation for higher education.
