Whilst the centre of the city was very badly damaged, OCS staff in New Zealand- many of whom were on duty when the earthquake hit - pulled together to play their part in keeping essential services like the city’s hospital and airport running. Kevin Mulcahy, OCS’s managing director in New Zealand has commended the efforts of local staff to support their clients through this difficult time, saying, “From senior managers through to those delivering our services, the response has been amazing. People who have experienced the immense damage have focused on carrying on their work for OCS to ensure that our customers receive great service throughout.”
One client formally thanked the OCS team for their efforts during the earthquake in a letter which stated: ‘The onsite team on Saturday morning were absolute stars with Jacquie and the rest of the team getting stock in to help with the cleanup. All of this work allowed the Mall to open to the public at 9.30 a.m. well ahead of most other Centres.
‘Throughout the days, we saw may distressed tenants and staff but, throughout this trying time, the OCS crew got on with their jobs and really kept things going.
‘It’s times like these that companies can shine and OCS certainly shone for us.’
